Turn off and tune out

On Monday the Herald Sun reported Lifeline Australia patron John Brogden‘s message for anyone victim of bullying via social media.

Turn off and tune out….victims of cyber-bullying should simply step away from their screens.

The Herald Sun explains:

The one-time politician, who tried to take his own life amid intense media scrutiny in 2005, is now a suicide prevention advocate.

“People do not have the right just to get on and, in a disgusting fashion, vomit words of hate over a tweet,” Mr Brogden told reporters in Sydney.

“The mere fact that you see someone on television or playing footy doesn’t mean you’ve got the right to get on Twitter and attack them.”
